Job Description

Job Title: Apprentice Podiatrist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Podiatrist to join our team at the NHS. As an Apprentice Podiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality podiatric care to patients in a variety of clinical settings.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of patients with specialized care needs, developing and implementing effective treatment plans to maintain patient mobility and independence.
  • Continuing Professional Development: Maintain high-quality clinical skills and ensure ongoing professional development in line with national and local guidelines, staying up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices.
  • Treatment and Intervention: Deliver evidence-based podiatry interventions, including wound management, nail surgery, and ulcer care, within a supervised program of care.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Develop and maintain effective communication and interpersonal skills, working collaboratively with the team to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Specialized Treatments: Provide specialized podiatric treatments, such as nail surgery and wound management, under the supervision of experienced clinicians.
Requirements:
  • Education and Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Podiatry with Local Anaesthesia certificate, currently registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and member of the Royal College of Podiatrists.
  • Experience: Competence in nail surgery and Local Anaesthesia, experience dealing with patients who have barriers to communication, and competence in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of patients to degree level.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent organizational skills, articulate communication, flexible approach, and excellent IT skills.
Working Conditions:
  • Work Environment: Amersham Hospital or Brookside Clinic, Aylesbury, with cross-site working required.
  • Contract: Permanent position.
