Quantity Surveyor Opportunity

A reputable civil infrastructure contractor is seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join its team due to a significant increase in workload.

They specialise in the construction of associated water, waste water treatment and general utility infrastructure works, and also plan to expand into other civil engineering sectors moving forward.

The Role

Reporting into a Senior Quantity Surveyor and being exposed to a variety of interesting contracts, duties will include:

  • Commercially assisting to estimate costs, quantities, and project timelines
  • Liaising with clients to identify their needs
  • Estimating quantities, costs and time scales for material and labour
  • Assisting in the preparation of tender and contract documents
  • Identifying and weighing up commercial risks
  • Assigning work to subcontractors
  • Valuing completed work with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, managing budgets and overseeing payments
The Ideal Candidate

Ideally, you will have at least 12 months experience, ideally working for a civil engineering contractor, (perhaps a placement year) and be familiar with both JCT and NEC contracts.

In addition to this, you will have:

  • Construction Related Qualification
  • Civils project experience on contracts up to £5M, preferred
  • Driven, motivated and an all-round positive person
