About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Strategic Planning Director to cover maternity leave. This is an exciting opportunity to drive forward the implementation and delivery of cancer services transformation across Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and Velindre NHS Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering partnership working and collaboration across organisations, with a focus on delivering improved outcomes for patients with cancer within the region. They will also support specific elements of the wider Regional Portfolio with partners across South East Wales and the Cardiff and Vale transformation agenda.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Programme Director for Strategic Clinical Redesign to drive forward approaches for the implementation and delivery of the cancer services transformation agenda.
  • Lead dedicated planning support for key elements of the service transformation agenda across Cardiff & Vale UHB and with partners across South East Wales.
  • Support the Head of Strategic Planning to continually develop and mature the UHB's approach to strategic planning.
Requirements
  • Senior management experience within a large complex NHS organisation with an ability to command credibility.
  • Extensive understanding of the issues facing the Welsh NHS, including an awareness and understanding of the current key government policy agenda.
  • Leadership, influencing, and team building skills.
  • Project and programme management skills.
