**Job Summary**

Page Personnel is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join their team on a temporary contract with the strong chance of a permanent role for the successful candidate.

**About the Company**

This is a respected firm in their specialist industry, employing over 2000 people.

**Key Responsibilities**

Assist with balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.

Support the finance team with month-end closing activities, including journal entries and account analysis.

Maintain and update financial records using the Xero system, while transitioning to SAP as part of the company's system upgrade.

Process invoices, reconcile accounts, and assist with general ledger maintenance.

Support in the preparation of VAT returns, financial reports, and other regulatory filings.

Collaborate with internal departments to ensure smooth financial operations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team as needed, including preparing financial analysis and assisting with audits.

**Requirements**

Proven experience in balance sheet reconciliation and general accounting processes.

Proficiency in Xero is essential, and experience with SAP is highly advantageous.

Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
