About the Role

This part-time role is an exciting opportunity to join the Sunflowers Suicide Support team as a Suicide Liaison Officer. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering trauma-informed suicide support to adults, children, and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and reviews to meet practical needs that arise
  • Assess risk and monitor for symptoms of trauma, including secondary trauma
  • Provide postvention liaison support, appropriate psychological support, psychoeducation, and signposting
  • Liaise with external organisations and agencies to ensure effective support
  • Work as part of a small team to ensure confidential records are kept securely and accurately
Requirements
  • Relevant work experience and a knowledge and understanding of complicated grief and the impact of bereavement by suicide
  • A professional qualification and experience working with grieving people, including children and young people
  • Previous identifiable experience of trauma-informed care and a commitment to ongoing development
  • Ability to manage workload, meet diverse complex needs, and be flexible in approach to work
