Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate and dedicated support assistant to join our team as a Specialist Support Assistant in a 'Good' primary school located in Preston.
About the Role:
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Competitive hourly rate
- Initial contract for one academic year with the possibility of extension
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work closely with pupils with additional needs, providing individualized support to ensure their comfort, happiness, and safety within the learning environment. This will involve:
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with pupils, teachers, and other support staff
- Assisting with lesson planning and implementation to meet the needs of pupils with additional needs
- Providing emotional support and guidance to pupils, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development
- Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Level 2 or above relevant qualification
- An Enhanced DBS check (assistance provided)
- Experience working with children or individuals with additional needs
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- High reliability and ability to work term-time only
