Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist provision in Southend. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH and associated complex needs between the ages of 11-16 years.

About the Role:
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students with SEMH and complex needs
  • Develop and implement de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviours
  • Build strong rapport with students and colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized support plans
  • Participate in outdoor and creative activities to promote student engagement and well-being
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications and training in special educational needs or social emotional and mental health
  • Experience working with students with SEMH and complex needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
