Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Store Managers in leading and developing a high-performing team of Sales Assistants and volunteers
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of retail strategies and processes to drive sales growth and customer engagement
  • Collaborate with the Shop Manager to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction
  • Lead by example, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Assist with the management of stock, including receiving, storing, and rotating stock to ensure optimal inventory levels
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of visual merchandising displays and store layouts to enhance the customer shopping experience
  • Support the Shop Manager in the recruitment, training, and development of Sales Assistants and volunteers
  • Assist with the management of cash handling, including processing transactions, handling customer complaints, and resolving issues
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and secure store environment, adhering to Age UK's health and safety policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a retail management role, with a strong track record of delivering sales growth and customer satisfaction
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed decisions
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the Shop Manager and other team members to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Ability to lift and carry bags of stock up to 10kg's
  • IT literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to use retail software and systems
