Housing Health and Safety Rating System Inspector

We are partnering with a Local Authority in Rotherham to assist with the appointment of a Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) Property Inspector on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at the client's discretion. Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: per Hour

Responsibilities:

  • The contractor will be provided with a list of geographical similar properties, including landlord contact details, with a live email address.
  • The Authority will make contact with the landlord and tenant in the form of a S239 appointment letter, which provides notice of inspection within a one-week window, but with the opportunity for specific appointments to be made.
  • The contractor will manage their own appointments. The contractor will have to provide a direct mobile telephone number for residents and landlords to use to ensure ease of contact and effective communication. They will also provide a similar number to their Single Point of Contact (SPOC) at the council.
  • The Council will provide a Google-based App to install on the contractor's own mobile device, which allows for mobile inspections recording.
  • The Council will provide training on the use of the App prior to any inspections being offered.

Requirements:

  • Contractors will be required to act professionally, including the way they dress, which must be smart and not display any advertising or slogans. They must act with courtesy to clients and colleagues.
