About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join our team in the Oncology & Haematology Emergency Assessment Bay (EAB) at Northampton General Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high standards of care to patients and their families, ensuring excellent patient experience.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate programmes of evidenced-based nursing care to a group of patients.
  • Participate in the daily running of the department, ensuring smooth and efficient running, and take charge on shift in the absence of the Sister/ Charge Nurse.
  • Take responsibility for own self-development, helping to provide a suitable learning environment and high standards of clinical practice.
  • Recognize own limitations and seek advice and support from senior staff when required.
About the Team

The EAB is a busy department within the Oncology & Haematology directorate, operating 24/7. Patients on active SACT treatment can call for advice and support. Patients are then either advised how to manage at home or advised to attend EAB for treatment.

Requirements
  • NMC registration.
  • A recognized teaching qualification and mentorship.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and display inclusive leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective IT skills.
  • Ability to plan own workload and manage own time effectively.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and implement change.
  • Self-motivated and works well under pressure.
