Job Summary

The Nelson Trust is seeking a dedicated and empathetic individual to join our team as a Women's Support Specialist at HMP Eastwood Park. This role involves engaging and supporting women being held on remand, addressing their immediate needs, and ensuring a robust plan of support is in place.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of women and undertake comprehensive needs assessments to identify and address their needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to promote long-term lasting change and divert women away from the Criminal Justice System.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide holistic support services, including one-to-one support, outreach, and group interventions.
  • Utilize a trauma-informed approach to engage women and address their needs in a safe and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Passion for supporting and empowering women in a holistic, women-centered, trauma-informed way.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and its impact on women.
