About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Board of Trustees as a Board Governance Specialist. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of Strathclyde Students'​ Union and ensuring the organization's continued success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on governance, risk, and compliance matters to the Board and senior management team.
  • Contribute to the development of the organization's strategic plan and ensure its effective implementation.
  • Support the Board in its decision-making processes and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with other Board members to enhance the diversity and skills of the Board.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in governance, risk, or compliance, preferably in a similar organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • A deep understanding of the higher education sector and the challenges faced by student unions.
