Job Summary

The Built Environment Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Fundraising Director to lead the development of our fundraising function and drive growth in philanthropic and supporter income.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve income targets of approximately £1,000,000 per year within 3 years.
  • Lead the identification and stewardship of major gift prospects, corporate and foundation donors, and plan and execute special events.
  • Work closely with the Chief Executive and Trustee Board to build the fundraising capacity of the Trust and provide leadership across all income streams.
  • Collaborate with external consultants to leverage research and development work in support of the fundraising function.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of success in fundraising, with a strong understanding of philanthropic and supporter income streams.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with a ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
