Estimator Position

PWS Technical Services (UK) Ltd is seeking applications from experienced estimating professionals or Project/Contracts Managers looking to advance their careers in pre-construction. Candidates should have a background in various aspects of ground or geotechnical engineering, including but not limited to piling, soil stabilization, and foundation techniques.

Due to ongoing growth and an increase in project demands, we are looking to appoint a dedicated estimator with extensive experience in the relevant techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing precise and efficient cost estimates for projects across the UK. Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing complex tenders, bids, proposals, and quotations for various contract variations.
  • Collaborating with clients to conduct high-level estimates, ensuring that solutions are engineered to meet statutory regulations and client objectives.
  • Analyzing and interpreting detailed client requests, drawings, and specifications to determine value-engineered solutions.
  • Submitting tailored bids and proposals to clients, utilizing expertise in the field.
  • Participating in pre and post-tender meetings with clients and their representatives.
  • Working efficiently under deadline pressures while maintaining composure.
  • Supporting the overall business to achieve financial targets and identifying new opportunities for work.
  • Assisting in the identification of new suppliers and subcontractors to enhance performance and profitability.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated and confident individual with a strong ability to innovate while adhering to established processes. A proven track record in the piling, foundations, or ground engineering sectors is essential. Key qualifications include:

  • Ability to accurately identify project requirements and prepare comprehensive quotations.
  • Experience in providing detailed project handover files to ensure successful contract delivery.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising and negotiating with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Capability to manage conflicting demands on time effectively, demonstrating prioritization and scheduling skills.
  • Experience in monitoring progress and implementing controls to meet time, cost, and quality standards.
  • Ability to develop effective solutions to challenges and risks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate ideas and proposals persuasively to stakeholders.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service at all times.
