PWS Technical Services (UK) Ltd invites applications from experienced estimating professionals or Project/Contracts Managers eager to advance their careers in pre-construction. Candidates should possess a background in any aspect of ground or geotechnical engineering, including disciplines such as piling, piled foundations, soil stabilization, underpinning, and drilling.

Due to ongoing growth and an increase in workload, our client is seeking a dedicated estimator with extensive experience in the aforementioned techniques. The primary responsibility will be to provide precise and efficient cost estimates for projects throughout the UK. Key responsibilities include:

  • Producing complex tenders, bids, proposals, and quotations related to various contract variations.
  • Coordinating with clients to perform high-level estimates that lead to engineered solutions, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and client requirements.
  • Attending pre and post-tender meetings with clients and their representatives.
  • Working efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Supporting the business in achieving financial targets and identifying new opportunities for work.
  • Identifying and developing relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to enhance performance and profitability.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a confident, self-motivated individual with a proven track record in the piling, foundations, or ground engineering sectors. Key qualifications include:

  • Ability to accurately identify project requirements and prepare comprehensive quotations.
  • Experience in providing detailed project handover files to operations teams for successful contract delivery.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising and negotiating with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in managing conflicting demands on time and effectively prioritizing tasks.
  • Capability to monitor progress and implement controls to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality task completion.
  • Skill in developing effective solutions to challenges and risks.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and proposals persuasively to stakeholders.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service at all times.
