Job Title: Reactive Waste Van Driver

We are seeking a skilled Van Driver to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a Reactive Waste Van Driver, you will be responsible for collecting boilers, radiators, pipework, and other bagged waste from household gardens or inside properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collection of boilers, radiators, pipework, and other bagged waste from household gardens or inside properties
  • Occasional collection of asbestos materials, completion of necessary documents, safe carriage, and disposal in accordance with waste regulations
  • Occasional collection of bagged hazardous waste items, completion of necessary documents, safe carriage, and disposal in accordance with waste regulations
  • Manage segregation of wastes in the rear of the vehicle for ease of removal at disposal sites and to secure hazardous materials
  • Drive a wide geographic area, and drivers are sometimes required to provide cover in neighboring areas, therefore a lot of driving is involved

Requirements:

  • Valid driving license
  • Excellent customer service skills with a passion for giving all customers a positive and memorable experience
  • Flexibility to work any day of the week and the occasional weekend
  • Conscientious and thorough in all day-to-day tasks while remaining professional and upbeat
  • Ability to work independently while remaining part of an overall, larger team
