Hydraulic & Mechanical Engineer

Location: London Heathrow

Salary: £40,000 DOE

Working Hours: Monday to Friday

Note: A clean driving license and the ability to pass a CRB check are essential for this position.

Role Overview:

The primary responsibility of this role is to execute both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on hydraulic and mechanical systems, ensuring that our client's engineering assets operate at optimal performance levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Planned Preventative Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all hydraulic systems.
  • Performing load testing and certification of hydraulic jacks, ensuring their safe functionality, along with initial inspections of new equipment.
  • Ensuring safety protocols are followed during all operations and supervising any contractors on site.
  • Responding to service requests from clients, traveling to and identifying equipment requiring maintenance or repair.
  • Managing work requests from initiation to completion, while keeping the line manager and clients updated on progress.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and team members regarding work order status and any arising issues.
  • Collaborating as a team player within a group of 17 employees, delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Accurately completing all administrative tasks related to work orders, ensuring documentation is thorough and uploaded correctly.
  • Participating in training sessions to ensure safe execution of job responsibilities.
  • Executing any reasonable requests from management to support the efficient operation of the contract.
  • Managing critical spare parts for client equipment.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A relevant qualification such as C&G, BTEC level 3, ONC/OND, or NVQ level 3 in a hydraulic or mechanical field.
  • A valid UK driving license.
  • Strong communication, numerical, and IT skills.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently while effectively prioritizing tasks.
  • A solid understanding of asset maintenance and hydraulic systems, with proven experience in the field.
  • The capability to establish and uphold high standards of quality and safety.
  • A commitment to adhering to health and safety regulations and site-specific guidelines.
  • Experience with pressurized gas systems is a plus.
  • Strong decision-making and communication abilities.
  • Resilience under pressure and the confidence to engage with staff, suppliers, and clients at all levels.
