Job Title: Autism Support Assistant

Ribbons & Reeves is seeking a dedicated and skilled graduate to join their inclusion team as an Autism Support Assistant.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and compassionate individual to provide support to children with autism in a primary school setting. As an Autism Support Assistant, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to design and implement tailored strategies and interventions to enhance communication, social interaction, and independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one support to individuals with autism in various environments, including schools, homes, and community settings.
  • Assist in designing and implementing tailored strategies and interventions to enhance communication, social interaction, and independence.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, educators, and therapists to ensure a well-rounded and effective support approach.
  • Support individuals with autism in managing daily routines, including personal care, leisure activities, and educational tasks.
  • Track and monitor progress, documenting observations to guide ongoing interventions and support plans.
Requirements:
  • A First-Class or 2:1 degree, preferably in Psychology or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people who need additional support to thrive in their education and social development.
  • Ideally, previous experience (formal or informal) supporting children with autism or other special educational needs.
  • A proactive, positive attitude, with a commitment to meeting the diverse learning needs of children.
  • The ability to build strong rapport with children.
