At The Wall Street Journal, we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Supervising Producer to lead our global video team in London.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing high-quality, timely international news and business analysis videos. They will possess exceptional editorial judgment, team leadership skills, and a passion for creating distinctive content that resonates with our core audience.

The Senior Supervising Producer will work closely with the Executive Producer and a team of video journalists to produce daily news and long-form feature videos. They will be responsible for proposing original ideas, working with video journalists to hone story angles, and delivering high production value results.

The successful candidate will have at least eight years of experience producing content in a daily video news environment, with a successful track record of leading and managing video teams in a global news organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Executive Producer and video journalists to produce daily news and long-form feature videos
  • Propose original, data-informed ideas on a daily basis
  • Work closely with video journalists to hone story angles and deliver high production value results
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback on scripts and videos
  • Monitor live feeds and produce breaking news events
  • Collaborate with key newsroom editors and global video team leaders
  • Coach reporters and news editors to appear on camera or in voiceover
  • Mentor staff and provide opportunities for development and growth
  • Ensure adherence to journalistic, ethical, and legal standards

Requirements:

  • At least eight years of experience producing content in a daily video news environment
  • Successful track record leading and managing video teams in a global news organization
  • Exceptional communication and strategic thinking skills
  • World-class editorial and ethical judgment
  • Unrestricted ability to work in the UK
