Job Title: Directorate Manager for Head and Neck Directorate

This is a secondment opportunity for 12 months to cover maternity leave in the Planned Care Group.

The Planned Care Group provides services at five sites with a turnover of c.£147m and around 38,500 day case/in patient episodes of care together with outpatient activity of 300,000. This is our largest Care Group and sits at the heart of our organisation as we work to sustain our financial delivery and modernise the way we work from a business and management point of view.

We are looking to recruit a talented and ambitious Directorate Manager for Head & Neck Directorate as we continue to build on our reputation for delivering high quality, well-led services in a hospital that is rated as "Good" by the CQC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with administrative teams which are devolved and co-located with their clinical teams giving you direct control of all processes relating to patient pathway management.
  • Be managerially responsible for Head & Neck Services providing clear leadership and working with the Clinical Director, Matron, Care Group Director and Care Group Director of Operations to ensure the provision of high quality patient care and the most efficient and cost effective use of resources.
  • Ensure that within all specific work areas all local and national performance standards and objectives are met.
  • Participate in the Trusts on-call manager rota.
Person Specification
  • Professional management qualification or equivalent
  • Educated to Degree Level in a health related, business or leadership field, or equivalent in-depth experience
Requirements
  • Significant and proven senior management experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Successful track record of managing change in a complex environment
  • High level project management skills with a record of achievement
  • Proven skills in strategic planning, management and delivery
  • Experience of leading and directing senior clinical and non-clinical teams in achieving key performance indicators
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial management and business management skills
  • Experience of leading change programmes
