Job Summary

Compass is a leading charity providing health and wellbeing services for children, young people, adults, families, and communities. We are a prominent 3rd Sector provider of Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) across England, delivering MHSTs in various regions.

About the Role

We are recruiting 24 trainee Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) to deliver evidence-based, high-quality, and responsive services to meet the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of children, young people, and families (CYPF). This role requires a driving license and access to a vehicle, with consideration for accessibility options for individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver short-term, low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) informed interventions for CYP aged 5-19 years with anxiety, low mood, family and peer relationship difficulties, difficulty adjusting to change, or managing emotions in educational settings.
  • Work within the service, delivering interventions to CYPF and education settings, while balancing university timetables and requirements.
  • Develop skills, knowledge, and capabilities to work as a qualified EMHP upon successful completion of training.
Person Specification
  • Degree or ability to study at degree level.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with Children, Young People, and Families.
  • Ability to study as a self-motivated learner, formulating progress towards learning objectives and negotiating pathways to achievement with supervisory teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Ability to work all year round.
