About the Role

Mivan Marine Ltd is a dynamic and progressive specialist contractor seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Senior Contract Estimator. This role offers the opportunity to work on prestigious projects and be part of a forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the estimation process for contracting projects, ensuring accurate cost estimation and preparation of tender documentation.
  • Coordinate the compilation of tender submissions, including traditional or design and build methods.
  • Sourcing and assessing supplier and subcontract quotations to secure the most advantageous terms for the company.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities from drawings, specifications, and schedule of finishes.
  • Develop analytical estimates from first principles and review subcontract quotations.
  • Review and comment on design options, reporting findings and recommendations on cost, quality, and availability.
  • Calculate site management and preliminary costs.
  • Arrange and chair tender adjudication meetings, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and actions are completed.
  • Monitor and oversee the compilation of tender submission documents.
  • Prepare tender submissions and participate in final negotiations.
  • Arrange and attend handover meetings on successful tenders.
  • Post-tender and post-contract discussions and cost considerations, including evaluation of the contract.
  • Assist in the training of other estimating team members by disseminating relevant information regarding construction methods, programmes, and contract conditions.
Requirements
  • Previous estimating experience within the contracting industry, with a strong background in fit-out projects.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work to strict deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience using Conquest or similar estimating software packages is preferable.
