Mivan Marine Ltd is a dynamic and progressive specialist contractor seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Senior Contract Estimator. This role offers the opportunity to work on prestigious projects and contribute to the company's success.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the estimation process for contracting projects, ensuring accurate cost estimation and tender documentation.
- Coordinate the compilation of tender submissions, including traditional and design-build methods.
- Sourcing and assessing supplier and subcontract quotations to secure the most advantageous terms for the company.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities from drawings, specifications, and schedule of finishes.
- Develop analytical estimates from first principles and review subcontract quotations.
- Review and comment on design options, reporting findings and recommendations on cost, quality, and availability.
- Calculate site management and preliminary costs.
- Arrange and chair tender adjudication meetings, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and incorporated into the final submission.
- Monitor and oversee the compilation of tender submission documents.
- Prepare tender submissions and participate in final negotiations.
- Arrange and attend handover meetings on successful tenders.
- Post-tender and post-contract discussions and cost considerations, including evaluation of the contract.
- Assist in the training of other estimating team members by disseminating relevant information regarding construction methods, programmes, construction outputs, and contract conditions.
- Previous estimating experience within the contracting industry, with a strong background in fit-out projects.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work to strict deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent IT skills, including experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using Conquest or similar estimating software packages is preferable.
