About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mental Health Nurse to join our team at HMP Forest Bank, a Category B prison housing male prisoners aged 18 and above. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals within a challenging yet rewarding environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality mental health care services within a secure setting, ensuring they meet community standards.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify and understand the diverse needs of our patients.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate personalized care plans tailored to each individual's requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including healthcare professionals, prison staff, and other stakeholders.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to service users and colleagues on mental health matters.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of our mental health services within the prison.
About You
You will be a registered Mental Health Nurse with a minimum of two years post-registration experience in acute mental health, criminal justice, or forensic mental health nursing. A strong understanding of risk assessment and management is essential, along with knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other relevant legislation.
You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds. Your ability to work effectively within a team environment and remain calm under pressure are crucial attributes for success in this role.
