We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Peripatetic Ward Manager to join our team at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust. As a Peripatetic Ward Manager, you will play a key role in providing operational leadership to our general rehabilitation wards, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide operational leadership to the ward teams in the absence of the substantive ward manager.
- Facilitate the discharge of patients to and from the community hospital, following Hospital Discharge Guidance and Home First ethos.
- Work with all healthcare professionals and statutory/non-statutory agencies to provide a seamless, integrated service to patients.
- Provide senior leadership during the week, with the expectation to cover service gaps as required.
- Lead and promote training and staff development for the continued professional growth of the ward teams.
- Deliver high standards of nursing care in accordance with evidence-based practice and ensure local and national policies are followed.
- Focus on quality of care and safety on the ward, including learning from experience and leading in good practice.
- Manage the allocated budget, ensuring resources are efficiently and effectively used and maintained.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Experience of leading a team.
- Experience of working in a multi-agency environment.
- Experience of managing budgets.
- A track record of successful service and policy development and implementation.
- Performance management experience.
- Registered Nurse qualification.
- Recognised management qualification or evidence of working at that level.
- First-level degree, diploma, or equivalent post-registration experience.
- Current registration to a professional body.
