About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Radiology Specialist to join our team at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting on a variety of imaging modalities, including CT, MRI, Plain Film Radiography, and Ultrasound. You will also be involved in interventional procedures and will work closely with our Consultant Radiologists and Radiographers to ensure the delivery of excellent patient care.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reporting on imaging studies, including CT, MRI, Plain Film Radiography, and Ultrasound
  • Participating in interventional procedures, including fluoroscopy and image-guided biopsy/drainage
  • Working closely with Consultant Radiologists and Radiographers to ensure the delivery of excellent patient care
  • Contributing to the development of a high-quality, cost-effective service
  • Participating in clinical audit and research relevant to the specialty
  • Teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates, and junior medical staff
Person Specification

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists or equivalent (if overseas applicant)
  • GMC registration and licence to practise
  • Completed a recognised training programme in clinical radiology
  • High level of clinical experience and competence in general radiology
  • Knowledge of current trends in the specialty
  • IT skills

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Expertise and experience in fluoroscopy and image-guided biopsy/drainage
  • Consultant level experience (if trained overseas)
  • Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates, and junior medical staff
  • Evidence of participation in clinical audit relevant to the specialty
