About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellow at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality elective and emergency anaesthetic services to patients.
  • Engage in clinical governance activities, including critical incident reporting, morbidity and mortality meetings, audit, and mandatory training.
  • Contribute to the teaching and training of other members of the anaesthetic department and hospital staff.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and engage with management and administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Primary medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent).
  • Full GMC registration by the designated start date.
  • FRCA (or equivalent level of knowledge).
  • At least 3 years' higher specialist training in anaesthesia and within 2 years of completing or up to 2 years post completing a recognised training scheme.
  • Experience of teaching, presenting, audit, and quality improvement activities.
  • Understanding of principles of clinical governance and one year's training in paediatric anaesthesia (or equivalent experience).
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • MRCP, MRCPCH, or equivalent.
  • Higher degree (MSc, MPhil).
  • Paediatric simulator training.
  • APLS/EPLS/MEPA.
  • Clinical experience in related paediatric specialties.
  • Published research in peer-reviewed journals.
