About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEND school in North Tyneside. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to access the curriculum and participate in classroom activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Support students with SEND in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and other staff members
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers to identify and implement strategies to support students with SEND
Requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students
  • Good knowledge of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans)
  • Ability to assist in lessons and activities
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
