Project Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controller to join our Portfolio Office at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects and contracts.
Key Responsibilities- Manage project controls, risks, and issues, and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders across the business.
- Develop and apply project management processes and tools, and continually improve our approach.
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, exhibiting excellent influencing skills to enable delivery.
- Provide progress updates, highlighting risks and opportunities, and advise on recovery options if project delivery performance is not meeting targets.
- Perform reviews on projects to inform whether they are ready to move to the next stage, and recommend actions to improve progress.
- Provide specialist knowledge and skills to ensure NPL is seen as an exemplar in project management by our customers, partners, stakeholders, and staff.
- Highly proficient in project controls management techniques and their application.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management.
- Experience in developing and applying project management processes and tools, and a willingness to continually improve.
- Proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrable experience in managing high-complexity projects or programmes, or a prioritisation approach within a PMO environment.
- Experience in working on projects with multiple partners from industry, government, and academia, with a technical scope of work.
- Proficiency in MS Project (training is available).
- Project management qualification or equivalent.
