Job Title: Learning Disability Support Worker - Waking Nights
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Carlisle Mencap. As a Learning Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing individualized support to individuals with learning disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling lives and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing Trusting Relationships: Build strong, trusting relationships with service users, encouraging them to express their needs, views, and concerns.
- Supporting Daily Living Skills: Assist service users in developing and maintaining daily living skills, such as cooking, cleaning, using public transport, and managing finances.
- Personal Care and Support: Provide personal care and support to service users, respecting their dignity and rights at all times.
- Community Involvement: Encourage service users to participate in community activities, promoting social inclusion and independence.
- Medication Administration: Safely store and administer medication as required.
- Teamwork and Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues and other agencies to provide a comprehensive support service.
Requirements:
- Essential Skills: Good communication skills, ability to keep accurate records, and a flexible approach to work.
- Desirable Qualifications: RQF Level 2 in Adult Care or equivalent qualification.
- Desirable Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities in a residential or community setting.
