About This Opportunity

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Scientist to join our dedicated Radioisotope Physics team. We provide comprehensive support to various clinical departments, including oncology, nuclear medicine, PET/CT, nuclear cardiology, and laboratories.

Your Role

As a Clinical Scientist in Radioisotope Physics, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radioisotope services. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Providing clinical, scientific, and technical support to our diverse range of clinical departments.
  • Ensuring the optimal operation of nuclear medicine imaging equipment and isotope calibration tools.
  • Conducting complex procedures, introducing innovative techniques, and optimizing clinical protocols.
  • Contributing to dosimetry and radiation protection services, quality improvement initiatives, and applied research projects.

About Our Team

We are a dynamic team committed to providing exceptional patient care through the utilization of cutting-edge technology. We currently support five SPECT gamma cameras (four with CT), two PET/CT scanners, and a new digital dedicated cardiac scanner. In the coming year, we will be upgrading three gamma cameras and one PET/CT scanner with the latest advancements in imaging technology.

Our clinical services encompass a wide spectrum of radionuclide therapies, diagnostic imaging, and non-imaging tests. We are also deeply involved in providing radiation protection support to all departments utilizing radioisotopes. Furthermore, our team actively participates in numerous clinical trials, including those involving novel PET and SPECT tracers and innovative therapeutic techniques.
