Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist SACT Nurse to join our team at Nuffield Health Warwickshire Hospital. As a Specialist SACT Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with haematological and oncological conditions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead by example and be an ambassador for Nuffield Health, embodying our values of compassion, expertise, and excellence.
  • Utilize your clinical skills and empathetic approach to meet the unique needs of each patient, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their treatment journey.
  • Enjoy autonomy to make decisions that ensure excellent patient care, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide holistic support.
  • Administer systemic anti-cancer therapy and supportive treatments, ensuring patients receive the best possible care.
  • Assist with Holistic Needs Assessments, identifying and addressing patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Complete UKONS triage and assessments, providing timely and effective care to patients experiencing acute oncological and haematological emergencies.
  • Interact with practitioners from other departments, fostering strong relationships and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Educate patients in the management of their care, empowering them to take an active role in their treatment and recovery.
  • Assist with outpatient consultant clinics, offering opportunities for professional growth and development within cancer care.

Person Specification

  • Be NMC registered and a qualified nurse.
  • Have a UKONS SACT passport (or equivalent).
  • Have a minimum of 6 months SACT administration experience.
  • Be proficient in phlebotomy, cannulation, and accessing Central Venous Access Devices, including portacaths.
  • Be competent in UKONS triage.
