Business Intelligence Developer

Sage is a leading provider of business management software and services, and we are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our Analytics Hub team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and implementing data modeling solutions using relational and dimensional cloud databases. They will work closely with senior leaders, franchise teams, and other key employees to understand Sage's current state, future goals, and how best to contribute to potential opportunities that accelerate our vision.
The main components of this role are:
- Guiding and Supporting Franchises
The Business Intelligence Developer will guide and support franchises to create scalable solutions using the right patterns and tools for the use cases.
Ensuring Data Quality and AccuracyThey will ensure that the data products created enable franchises to analyze data to identify patterns and trends, and draw insights and conclusions.
Facilitating CollaborationThe successful candidate will have an awareness and understanding of data work being completed across the organization to help facilitate collaboration across franchises.
Identifying Opportunities for ImprovementThey will identify opportunities for the Enterprise Data Model to be utilized or enhanced.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading Enablement of Franchises
The Business Intelligence Developer will lead enablement of franchises on dbt, providing SME support and guidance while being ready to support with a hands-on approach when required.
Ensuring Data Model DevelopmentThey will be responsible for ensuring franchises design, develop, and maintain data models using SQL, Snowflake, and dbt.
Guiding Data TransformationThe successful candidate will guide franchises on how to streamline and simplify the data transformation process, making the supporting logic easier to understand, maintain, and iterate.
Defining Data Models and TransformationsThey will define data models, transformations, and business rules within dbt while ensuring data accuracy and quality.
Embedding Structure and DocumentationThe Business Intelligence Developer will embed structure and maintain clear documentation across data models and transformations to foster understanding and communication amongst franchise team members.
Verifying Data RequirementsThey will understand data product and business requirements to verify that they have been translated into the appropriate data model specifications.
Ensuring Data Quality TestsThe successful candidate will ensure appropriate data quality tests are built into the development and validate data models by writing and executing tests within dbt.
Supporting Franchise TeamsThey will support franchise teams to work using the defined tools and processes.
Prioritizing Information NeedsThe Business Intelligence Developer will work with franchise management to prioritize information and data product needs.
Ensuring Data Quality and ConsistencyThey will help ensure data quality and consistency along with the data owner.
Awareness of Data Security and GovernanceThe successful candidate will have awareness of data security and data governance best practices while ensuring data privacy and compliance is crucial.
