About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team as a Senior Specialist in Haematology and Blood Transfusion Training Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality transfusion services.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the training and competency assessment of new and current Biomedical Scientists, Associate Practitioners, and MLA staff in Blood Sciences.
- Implement training programs for all grades of staff, including Specialist Registrars, STP, and HSST students, and apprentices.
- Provide continued professional development opportunities for registered and non-registered technical staff.
- Audit and assess compliance with regulatory body expectations.
- Maintain the training status of the Blood Transfusion and Haematology laboratory in line with IBMS standards.

Person Specification
- MSc Biomedical Science or IBMS Special Examination (Fellowship)
- Holder of the IBMS Certificate of Competence, Registration Portfolio
- Registration with the Health Care Professions Council
- Evidence of continuous professional development
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Training qualification
- Management/Quality training
- Knowledge of higher specialist level in relevant area
- At least 5 years post HCPC registration in diagnostic Haematology & Blood Transfusion
Skills and Knowledge
- Competent in quality management techniques
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to analyse, interpret, and present data/results/concepts
- Ability to deliver training in multiple formats reflecting on training needs
