Materials Planning Director

Proactive Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Materials Planning Manager to join their well-established planning and commercial team based on the outskirts of Chester.
The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and developing the planning and commercial team, driving strategic initiatives to optimize sales, inventory, and operations planning processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize sales, inventory, and operations planning processes.
- Oversee the planning, procurement, and distribution of materials, ensuring seamless supply chain operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish capacity plans based on demand and resource availability.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage inventory control processes to minimize stockouts and overstocking.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions.
- Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement in materials planning and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead the team to fully utilize the ERP system, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the automotive or aerospace industry.
- At least 2-3 years of management experience with strong leadership skills.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, business processes, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
