Job Title: Associate Director, Financial Planning

Widener University is seeking an Associate Director, Financial Planning to support the university's long-term strategic financial planning, annual operating and capital budget processes, and analytic reviews of academic programs and new strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial planning and budgeting processes to support the university's strategic goals.
  • Analyze complex financial trends and data to inform budget decisions and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement financial models and tools to support budgeting and forecasting.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making at the university level.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Five+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related field with deep knowledge of financial modeling, budget methodology, and strategic finance planning.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of diversity and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse constituent population.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex financial systems and ability to implement new processes or procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, or customer service.
  • Proven ability to create and foster an inclusive environment that demonstrates the university's commitment to diversity.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Seven+ years of experience in higher education or non-profit finance, financial modeling, budget methodology, and strategic finance planning.
