Job Title: Health, Safety and Environmental Manager

Safran Landing Systems is seeking a highly skilled Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join our team. As a key member of our site management team, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and expert advice in all aspects of personal safety, health and environment, ensuring legal compliance and driving cultural change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver HSE management systems, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines aligned to Safran group requirements.
  • Oversee the coordination, design and delivery of the HSE cultural program for SLS Gloucester.
  • Embed a culture of health, safety and environment across the business, engaging managers and employees at all levels with their HS&E responsibilities.
  • Manage the regulatory inspection process required for COMAH and compliance to EA and Severn Trent discharge permits for waste water and effluent.
  • Implement, develop, monitor and adhere to Management Systems aligned to all relevant UK/European legislative requirements and industry quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Educated to at least Level 3 (AS/A Level or Level 3 qualification), ideally relevant degree level 2:2 or above.
  • Corporate membership of IOSH by examination.
  • NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent, is required as a minimum.
  • Significant Health, Safety & Environment experience in an operations environment, ideally within the engineering/production environment.
  • Chemical processing knowledge and experience of managing a COMAH regulated site.
  • Understanding and previous success in delivering cultural change and behaviour-based safety initiatives.
