Position Overview:
As a Quality Control Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, legality, and quality of products within a reputable food manufacturing organization. This position reports directly to the Technical Manager and is essential for maintaining high standards in production processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Technical Manager in upholding compliance with the Food Safety Quality Management (FSQM) system and relevant audit standards.
  • Enhance the technical standards of the organization and support continuous improvement in manufacturing practices.
  • Facilitate factory adherence to FSQMS by organizing and managing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and fabrication audits.
  • Lead traceability exercises and ensure compliance with traceability requirements.
  • Evaluate and audit suppliers, maintaining an up-to-date approved suppliers' database.
  • Provide timely advice to management regarding current and potential issues that may impact the business.
  • Manage documentation necessary for supporting the FSQMS.
  • Oversee the control of non-conforming products within the manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure proper product labeling throughout the production process.
  • Assist in the development of pack copies and finished product specifications.
  • Actively participate as a member of the site’s Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) team.
  • Engage in FSSC/BRC activities as required.
  • Communicate effectively with production managers, supervisors, team leaders, and operational staff.
  • Compile and analyze Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data for the technical department on a weekly basis.
  • Gather and support analysis of complaint information for trend identification.
  • Coordinate microbiological sampling and evaluate trends from results.
  • Investigate recurring issues and opportunities for improvement through root cause analysis.
  • Act as a deputy for the Technical Manager when necessary.

Qualifications:
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science or a related field, or relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing is essential.
  • Ideal for candidates with experience in a technical team within a food production environment.
  • HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with BRC or similar Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail are required.
  • Experience supporting FSQMS in a food manufacturing context.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities and capacity to meet strict deadlines.
