**Trainee / Apprentice Building Control Surveyor**

**LOCATION**:Bristol / Tewkesbury / Swansea offices**

**HOURS**: 37.5 hrs per week, Monday to Friday

**+ About the role**

We have opportunities for trainee and apprentice Building Control Surveyors at our Bristol, Tewkesbury and Swansea offices.

The role of Building Control is to ensure building works at both design and construction stages achieve compliance with the Building Regulations. This is achieved through the checking of plans and other technical information provided by the architect or designers, and inspecting works on site with the contractor or builder.

With a few exceptions, all building works require Building Control approval, and it is the responsibility of Registered Building Control Inspectors to ensure these works are carried out to the corrected standards of health and safety in areas including structural stability, fire safety, sustainability etc.

**+ Roles and responsibilities**

+ Attendance and engagement with trainee development program

+ Assist with fee quotes

+ Assist with checking of plans for compliance with the Building Regulations

+ Assist with site inspections to ensure works are carried out in accordance with the Building Regulations

+ Assist with general queries and advise to customers

+ Undertaking all duties and activities in accordance with Cook Brown quality manual, standard operating procedures, technical memorandums and Registered Building Inspector code of conduct.
