At EMIS, we are seeking a Commercial Finance Manager to become a vital part of our Commercial Finance team on a permanent basis.

In this role, reporting directly to the Head of Finance – Projects, you will play an essential role within the commercial finance division, collaborating closely with our sales, commercial, and operational teams.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in a diverse range of commercial finance activities, primarily focusing on delivering financial and commercial insights for bids, tenders, contracts, and pricing associated with our framework contracts. Additionally, you will assist with various ad-hoc commercial evaluations and corporate initiatives as needed, while also providing support to the finance team during peak periods, such as month-end closing.

The role involves a hybrid work model, with one day in the office and the remainder working remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a comprehensive commercial finance position where you will be tasked with delivering proactive financial support to our operations, commercial, and sales teams throughout the bids, tenders, contracting, and pricing processes.

As a Commercial Finance Manager, you will engage with both internal and external stakeholders, providing detailed revenue and profitability analyses, conducting sensitivity assessments, and identifying financial risks and opportunities to drive favorable outcomes.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing contracts and frameworks, providing insights on financial terms, including risks related to invoicing, payments, liabilities, and penalties.
  • Assisting in the comprehensive review of various financial business processes and recommending enhancements for efficiency.
  • Preparing a range of commercial evaluations.
  • Supporting ad-hoc corporate projects as required.

Who You Are:

You are an accomplished finance professional, either a fully qualified accountant or nearing qualification. With a commercial perspective, you possess a keen analytical mindset when examining data or contracts.

Building collaborative relationships within EMIS is crucial; you will have the opportunity to partner with non-financial colleagues while delivering forecasts and detailed financial modeling reports.

In our fast-paced environment, the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to change is essential.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Strong analytical capabilities and meticulous attention to detail, with the ability to understand the broader context.
  • Experience in commercial finance, with a solid understanding of pricing strategies and contract management.
  • Familiarity with conducting commercial evaluations.
  • Proficient Excel skills, including complex modeling experience.
  • Qualified accountant (ACMA/ACA/ACCA) or in the later stages of qualification.
