About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Newborn Hearing Screening team in Manchester. As one of the largest hearing screening programs in the North West, we play a vital role in the early detection of permanent significant childhood hearing impairments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify newborn babies requiring screening and ensure the Newborn Hearing Screen is offered.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing clear and accurate information regarding the hearing screening program.
  • Obtain informed consent as per national and local protocols.
  • Carry out hearing screening within the maternity units, using specialized equipment, as per national and local protocols and procedures.
  • Accurately process data on the Smart4Hearing screening database.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of dealing with members of the public face to face.
  • Good communication skills, written, verbal, and electronic.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and individually, including lone working.
  • Good IT/KEYBOARD SKILLS and ability to use packages such as Word, Outlook, Excel.
