Vetro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for Young People to join our team in a residential setting. You will collaborate with a skilled group of Managers and Support Workers to ensure the highest standard of care for the children in our facility.

Position Overview:

  • Job Title: Support Worker for Young People
  • Compensation: £12-£13 per hour (with additional sleep-in payments)
  • Location: Residential Children's Home
  • Work Schedule: Flexible hours including long shifts, sleep-ins, early and late shifts

Key Responsibilities:

As a Support Worker for Young People, your role will include:

  • Assisting children and young individuals in their daily activities and interests
  • Supporting the management team with schedules, supervisions, and operational tasks
  • Encouraging independence and promoting the well-being of young people
  • Participating in outings, holidays, and recreational activities
  • Engaging in weekend and evening events to support the interests of the children
  • Ensuring the safety and welfare of young individuals by adhering to care plans
  • Providing emotional and practical support tailored to individual needs
  • Maintaining awareness of care guidelines to protect young people's health
  • Assisting in managing challenging behaviors through supportive strategies

Ideal Candidate Profile:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A genuine desire to foster positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young individuals
  • Empathy, a caring demeanor, and resilience
  • A minimum of one year of experience in childcare or a related social care environment
  • A valid UK Driving License
  • An Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • The legal right to work in the UK
