Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Facilities Shift Team Leader to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the effective inspection, operation, and maintenance of critical facilities and data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the site-based engineering team, including internal and MEP responsibilities.
  • Operate all systems within the facility in a competent, effective, and efficient manner, including MV switching operations.
  • Control all activities related to the technical and efficient operation of installed building systems, including MEP assets and compliance with statutory regulations.
  • Prepare and support specialist vendor planned, reactive, and corrective works, ensuring relevant change management approval is submitted for all critical works.
  • Ensure that specialist vendor worksheets are signed off where necessary, and quality of work has been inspected and recommendations are communicated by the engineering team.
  • Provide backup as engineering relief cover in the event of an emergency, which may require temporary shift working.
  • Ensure the team and specialist vendors comply with contractual service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Key operator of the Corrigo CMMS system, ensuring that MEP PPM, reactive, and corrective work orders/tasks are accurately completed within SLAs.
  • Attend weekly operations meetings, client meetings as requested, in conjunction with Integral account management.
  • Assist the Assistant Chief Engineer/Chief Engineer in completing the monthly and quarterly engineering report as detailed in the JLL SSOW contract, ensuring that significant events or activities are noted.
  • Contribute and highlight engineering risk and report on critical systems availability daily.
  • Complete shift handover reports, ensuring that significant events or activities are noted and effectively communicated to oncoming shifts and Integral management.
  • Control critical spares, including maintaining site stock registers, auditing stock levels, and procuring spares from suppliers as required.
  • Compile critical incident and near-miss reporting and after-action reviews.
  • Ensure all MEP planned maintenance is undertaken in line with OEM/SFG20 requirements as a minimum.
  • Escalate critical equipment operational issues immediately, in line with local site processes.
  • Review service reports of all specialist vendors, chasing any recommendations or follow-up actions with specialist vendors.
  • Produce site-specific SOP/MOP/EOP.
  • Assist the Assistant Chief Engineer in delivering critical infrastructure scenario training, taking a lead role in the development of engineers within the team.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of safe systems of work, ensuring compliance with relevant HSE policy and procedures.
  • Escalate specialist vendor performance issues, detailing accurately the areas of performance concerns.
  • Ensure technical and legislative updates are effectively communicated to all team members.
  • Maintain minimum levels of resourcing onsite, supporting the arrangement of suitable cover or replacement.
  • Participate actively in the site ONWH escalation and support of the 24/7 operation.
  • Take ownership of areas under Integral control, ensuring they are brought up to and maintained to the required show site standards.
  • Liaise with the supply chain when ordering M&E components for remedial works.
  • Proactively attend nominated training courses as identified by Integral management in line with the account training matrix.
  • Undertake site-specific technical assessments and skills gap analysis at intervals defined by Integral/JLL.
  • Coach new employees as part of the onboarding process for new starters.
  • Participate in the engineering quality assurance process to validate the standards of completed works.
  • Complete all responsibilities in line with the site-based MEP responsibilities matrix.
  • Respond to AladinWorks alarm responses and escalations for all critical alarms while on shift duty.

Personal Specification:

  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in critical environments such as banking HQ and data centers.
  • HV authorized person (experienced with HV systems).
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering HNC or HND (successfully completed apprenticeship in either).
  • C&G Pts. 1 & 2, equivalent or exceeds.
  • 17th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation (ability to attain 18th Edition through additional training).
  • C&G 2391 test and inspection; BS 7671:2001 for inspection, testing, and certification.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and direct a small team of engineers.
  • Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation.
  • Good IT and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm, clear thinking, and able to deliver the required services to the client within given time constraints.
  • Individuals who can demonstrate commitment and previous experience but not meet all the required technical qualifications may be considered subject to Operations Directors approval.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to attend on and off-site training for MEP assets, which may require nights away from home due to the nature of the specialist training such as HV authorized person training.
  • A high level of initiative, with drive to continuously improve the operation.
  • A smart, presentable corporate appearance.
  • Advanced communication skills with a full understanding of customer needs and expectations.
  • Ability to comprehend and act upon both verbal and written instructions.
  • Enthusiasm and demonstration of proactivity, diligence, and alertness, with the willingness to participate in appropriate internal training programs.
