About the Role

As an Electrical Shift Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of critical infrastructure within a high-profile data center environment. You'll lead a team of engineers, overseeing maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to maintain optimal performance and uptime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of electrical engineers, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical faults, utilizing your technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
  • Plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to coordinate projects and ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including repairs, maintenance logs, and safety inspections.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies in electrical engineering.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with critical infrastructure systems, such as data centers or corporate banking facilities.
  • Current HV/AP certification with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience.
  • Electrical Engineering HNC/HND/NVQ qualification or equivalent.
  • C&G Parts 1 & 2, or equivalent qualifications.
  • 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (ability to attain 18th Edition through additional training).
  • IOSH Working Safely certification (or NEBOSH equivalent).
  • IPAF (Combined) certification.
  • L8 Awareness Training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
