  • Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations, including monitoring air and water quality, assessing food safety standards, and managing hazardous waste disposal.
  • Enforce public health protection laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Respond to environmental health emergencies, such as outbreaks of infectious diseases or environmental contamination incidents.
  • Consult with members of the public regarding environmental health functions and address service requests or complaints.
  • Provide information and guidance to businesses and the public on environmental health issues to promote better practices and compliance.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports, and collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to public health.
Requirements
  • A degree in Environmental Health accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
  • Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or equivalent.
  • Relevant work experience in environmental health or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Good understanding of public health laws and regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
