Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to join our team at Sammons Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading the order fulfilment process, managing procurement activities, and coordinating production planning processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the order fulfilment process: Oversee the entire order-to-cash process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers.
  • Monitor procurement activities: Analyze and optimize procurement processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and maintain excellent relationships with suppliers.
  • Coordinate production planning processes: Work closely with cross-functional teams to plan and execute production schedules, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Support team members: Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance and health and safety: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee transportation and distribution activities: Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of goods to customers, minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.
  • Implement inventory control measures: Develop and implement effective inventory management strategies to maintain optimum stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Identify areas of improvement: Analyze processes and identify opportunities for improvement, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage staff workloads: Ensure fair distribution of workload, manage holiday requests, and monitor absences to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
  • Work with HR and other managers: Collaborate with HR and other managers to implement company policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Create reports: Develop and maintain accurate reports to track key performance indicators, providing insights for business decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop effective solutions.
  • Experience using supply chain management software: Proficiency in using ERP, transportation management, and inventory management systems to optimize supply chain operations.
  • Previous experience in a similar role: Proven track record of success in a logistics or supply chain management role, with a strong understanding of industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, including team members, suppliers, and customers.
  • Rapport building abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and external partners.
  • Team leading skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
