This is a full-time role, primarily scheduled from Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts as needed.

This position is perfect for an individual looking to advance their expertise by collaborating with our skilled Ophthalmic Consultants to provide exemplary Cataract Services.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Outpatients Manager, you will be an integral member of a progressive department equipped with state-of-the-art ophthalmic technology, including the IOL Master 700 and the latest Humphrey Visual Field Analyser. Our specialized services encompass cataract surgery pathways, assessments and treatments for age-related macular degeneration, and ocular-plastic pathways.

We offer comprehensive training for our Clinical Optometrist, enabling you to play a vital role in our patients' cataract journey, conducting initial pre-assessment appointments, as well as follow-up and routine consultations for our consultant-led elective ophthalmic services.

As a GOC registered Clinical Optometrist, you will possess experience in pre and post-assessments for patients referred for refractive surgery, along with a solid understanding of ophthalmic surgical care and ophthalmic diseases.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or an equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) or willingness to pursue ACT certification.
  • National Medicines Management Accreditation or equivalent.
