Job Title: Youth Support Assistant - SEMH/SEN

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Youth Support Assistant to join our team at an alternative provision education provider in Salford. The successful candidate will work with students between 4-16 years old who have challenging behaviour, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as Special Educational Needs (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the classroom teacher in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Work with healthcare and therapeutic professionals to provide individualized support to students
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery to meet the needs of students with SEMH/SEN
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students to help them overcome challenges
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEMH/SEN students
  • Classroom support experience
  • Team Teach training (training can be provided)
  • Commitment to supporting vulnerable students in a specialist environment
