Position Overview

RBW Consulting presents a remarkable opportunity for an experienced Lead Infrastructure Engineer within a thriving biotech organization. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge in Infrastructure and Networking to ensure the seamless functionality of both cloud-based and on-premise computing environments. Your contributions will shape the Infrastructure Services strategy, evaluate and implement cutting-edge technologies, and spearhead ongoing enhancements and lifecycle management within our operational framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and oversee infrastructure solutions in Microsoft Azure and on-premise Azure Stack HCI.
  • Guarantee that systems comply with industry standards, internal policies, and security regulations.
  • Manage third-party service providers from proposal evaluation through project execution and ongoing support.
  • Direct the lifecycle management of computing platforms and associated services.
  • Encourage continuous improvement in compute infrastructure services.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, system evaluations, and updates.
  • Provide technical mentorship, guidance, and training to junior team members.
  • Develop and maintain High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), and support documentation.
  • Participate in governance forums, including Technology Design Authority (TDA), Change Management, and Problem Management.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of experience as an IT Infrastructure Systems Administrator with expertise in Azure cloud and on-premise HCI platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in PKI systems, Active Directory, file services, Backup and Recovery solutions, Windows and Linux Servers, Patch Management, vulnerability management, remote access management, and network protocols (SMTP, NTP, DNS).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune for mobile device and application management is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with end-user computing and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues is preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading and mentoring junior team members.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders is preferred.
  • Experience in managing relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
  • Passionate about addressing business challenges and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Experience in driving IT service enhancements and technology upgrades is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities to improve operational efficiency and foster continuous improvement.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Experience in highly regulated sectors is preferred.
  • Experience in managing IT risks and technical debt is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Relevant industry certifications and accreditations are advantageous.
