About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team at Anson McCade, a leading global defence and security company. As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our software-defined data centres.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain OpenStack environments, focusing on core components like Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, and Cinder.
  • Deploy and configure OpenStack systems using tools like Ansible and Terraform, ensuring environments are consistent, reliable, and secure.
  • Provide support for instance creation, end-user management, and rapid application development.
  • Monitor system performance, plan for future capacity, and address any issues to maintain continuity of service.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure seamless operation of OpenStack platforms and resolve any technical challenges.
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of OpenStack services, particularly Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Cinder, and the Ceph storage platform.
  • Proficiency in Linux OS, with strong skills in scripting (bash, python) and command-line tools, particularly within RHEL environments.
  • Experience with deploying, configuring, and managing OpenStack environments using automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools to maintain system health and performance.
  • A strong understanding of security best practices for managing OpenStack platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment.

  • Competitive Salary: Circa £80,000, depending on experience.
  • Bonus: Up to 21% of your base salary.
